"A Sorta Fairytale" is a series of short stories centered around exploring Rinoa’s childhood and character. All are set prior to the events of Final Fantasy VIII (with the exception of the final one which I have to tweak) and all are filled with headcanon I have for her. The series title is borrowed from Tori Amos’ song with the same name.
She shifted her pack on her shoulders as she settled onto the bolder on the overlook, happy to have the shady little nook to rest in. Her feet ached from the long hike – a slow burn present in her legs, too – and she took a swig from her canteen, enjoying the spread of the valley below her and the cool breeze tugging strands of her hair out of its braid. It was, quite literally, all down hill from where she was taking her break, something she was grateful for, and she took a moment to survey the farms below.
A story about weather, Christmas shopping, and the tempestuous thought processes of girlfriends. Featuring a pair of my NaNoWriMo characters, Elise and Chandler.
It was cold.
Maybe “frigid” was a better term for it. Elise always forgot how cold the north east was in the winter. Well, she didn’t really forget, more like she chose to push the memory of the icy weather from her mind completely whenever she went home to “sunny” California for the winter and all of its rain.
Inspired by the 50scenes comm over on LiveJournal (specifically, Table 2, prompt 002. Grave). These prompts are, in fact, being used “unofficially” as I have not joined the comm nor made any claim, but sometimes a single word is all I need to write a scene. Character(s): Dick Grayson/(female, non-specific)
The Character Alphabet Meme is a writing exercise started by Combination-NC. It’s pretty nifty. You write 26 entries exploring a character.
I plan on doing one of these for several characters, Regina Hawke just happens to be the first one I crawled into the head of. I thought I’d post them in chronological order rather than alphabetical, but I think I’ll be posting them as I finish them. She’s a mage with questionable loyalty and is a really fun character to play with.
Second up is my main Commander Shepard, Sasha. Her name started as a joke, a reference to Valve’s “Meet the Heavy” video, and she wasn’t suppose to be my main Shep, but then she took over, which, really shouldn’t surprise me.
